Death, what a wonderful way to explain it...

A sick man was lying in his doctor's examination room grieving his last few hours. His doctor was there with him confirming his fears. "Sir, you don't have much longer, I'm sorry." The man pondered those words with fear for a few moments. The doctor, having been his physician throughout his life-threatening battle with his disease chose to stay with him for a few extra minutes. They had become friends over the years. After some brief conversation the doctor prepared to say goodbye. The man fully believing it would be the last time he would see his friend spoke up and said, "Doctor, I'm afraid of death. You see it so often you seem to be so comfortable about the idea. Tell me, what do you think lies on the other side?" The Doctor looking at him with solemn eyes spoke softly and said, "I don't know." "You don't know!" exclaimed the man. "You are a Christian and a doctor yet you can't answer that one question for a dying man, what's on the other side?!" The doctor was holding the door handle preparing to leave, from the other side of the door came scratching sounds and whining. The doctor then opened the door. Into the room came a golden retriever who sprang up onto the doctor with joy. Turning to the patient the doctor asked, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been inside this room before, he didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here and when the door opened he sprang in without fear and ran to him. I know little of what's on the other side of death, but I do know one master is there and that is enough."
